Janine Petit - Girl Camper
Growing up in a camping family Janine knew firsthand the feeling of accomplishment after making camp; the satisfaction of cooking up a meal on the open fire and the inner and outer warmth of a long burning campfire. In 2015 she began sharing her knowledge and encouragement with women who wanted to get out there and ‘’go places and do things’’ in her weekly podcast, quarterly magazine and through her partnerships with Go RVing and Camco Manufacturing. Girl Camper is the largest outdoor women’s adventure group in the US with chapters in over 30 states mentoring women into the great outdoors. Janine likes to say, ‘’there’s no wrong way to camp like a girl’’ and she means it.

We are Allie & Danella (She/Her/Hers). We started our business, Wander Free and Queer, when we began traveling around the US full-time in our RV. We feel that there is a lack of visibility for LGBTQ+ people in the outdoor and travel community. We didn’t see ourselves represented in media, promotions, etc. as we adventured across the country, so we decided to become part of the representation for others. Alongside creating content, we craft handmade crocheted items to promote visibility that incorporate nature and travel, such LGBTQ+ flag car charms, small space decor, and wearable accessories. We love doing what we do. Our whole mission is to create and cultivate community through hosting events, creating goods and being out, loud and proud! You can follow our page on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or visit our Etsy shop by searching Wander Free and Queer on any of those platforms. We would love to connect and create community as we travel and crochet across the USA!
